The Lakeview began in the early 1930’s as a campsite for workers building Highway 3A up the east shore of Kootenay Lake, and it’s been a grocery store since the early 1940’s. The old wooden water wheel, once used to provide electricity to the site, is still visible on the creek.
Today, The Lakeview has a fully stocked grocery store serving the local community with fresh produce, specialty cheeses, espresso drinks (latte, americano, cappuccino, espresso shots) made from specialty coffee beans from local roasters (with our onsite commercial grinder available), some organic and bulk foods, fresh bread, and canned and frozen foods, and seasonal local products. We also serve the community with the local post office, rural liquor agency, video outlet, and gas. We offer locally sourced (Famous Fritz in Creson) Brats on buns as well as other smokies. Be sure to check out our wine & cheese selection. Enjoy your lunch and coffee purchase at our lakeshore picnic tables!
